The national convention of the Young Israel, representing more than 30,000 members, concluded here with a resolution calling upon the United States Government to enter into a defense agreement with Israel “in order to bring Israel’s defense potential into the security structure of the Near East, and thus also expressing affirmatively the desire of the United States Government to guarantee Israel’s security.”
The delegates also passed a resolution calling upon the United States to cease all shipment of arms to the Arab states “until these states indicate their willingness to negotiate a peace settlement with Israel.”
