Yugoslav Jews “apprehensive”

The Jews of Yugoslavia are “naturally apprehensive” over the Austrian developments, the Jewish Telegraphic Agency was told today by Chief Rabbi Isaac Alkalay, here on a visit from Yugoslavia. The Nazi success in Austria, Dr. Alkalay pointed out, might strengthen anti-Semitic elements in Yugoslavia, where until the present time anti-Semitism has been weak and unable to take firm root among the freedom-loving Serbians.
