The new electoral law suppressing the special Jewish electoral college, which was rejected by the Parliament, will not be signed by M. Zaimis, President of the Greek Republic, it was announced here today.
Negotiations are now being carried on between the government and the opposition, which will probably bring about a peaceful settlement of the existing differences through the reinstatement of the Jewish electoral college.
In government as well as opposition circles, it is believed that peace will be made soon.
