Leaders in American Jewish cultural life last night attended a reception tendered by the American section of the Jewish Agency to Zalman Shazar, member of the Agency executive, upon his arrival to this country to head the Agency’s cultural department.
Dr. Nahum Goldmann, chairman of the Agency, introducing the guest to the distinguished group of Yiddish and Hebrew writers and educators, pointed to Mr. Shazar’s record as leader of the world Zionist movement and to of Education. analyzed the Jewish cultural situation in the united States and outlined plans for wide educational activities which the Jewish Agency intends to conduct in this country.
