The Dean of the Hebrew University Faculty of Law, Yitzhak Zamir, 47, will be Israel’s next Attorney General, the Cabinet decided today. Zamir will replace Prof. Aharon Barak, who came from the same faculty, Aug. I.
Zamir was born in Warsaw, studied law at the Hebrew University, completed his doctoral studies in London, and continued his academic career at the Hebrew University.
Barak will serve as Supreme Court Justice alongside Meir Shamgar, Barak’s predecessor.
