White House press secretary Ronald Zeigler confirmed here today that President Nixon and Soviet Communist Party Secretary Leonid I. Brezhnev will discuss the Middle East problem. Zeigler told newsmen, however, that the Middle East has not been discussed as yet.
Nixon and Brezhnev started their summit talks in Washington Monday and were closeted in talks at the President’s Camp David retreat today. Brezhnev returns to Washington tomorrow and will fly to the Western White House at San Clemente, California on Friday to continue his talks with the President. A joint communique is expected on Sunday.
