The sum of 20,000 pounds sterling is to be raised among the Jews of Palestine for the temporary relief of German refugees who are arriving here in increasing numbers, many of them penniless.

At a meeting held by the organized German Jews here resolutions were passed pledging every old settler from Germany to accommodate at least one newcomer with room and board until he finds employment and adjusts himself to the new conditions.

Sir Philip Cunliffe-Lister, minister for colonial affairs, who left London Saturday by plane, announced upon his arrival that he would recommend an economic study of the number of additional German-Jewish settlers Palestine is capable of absorbing.
