The fight against Zionism “as a tool of American imperialism “should be one of the major objectives of the Jewish Democratic Committee in Rumania in 1950, Bereu Feldmann, secretary-general of the organization and a member of Parliament, told a conference here of leading members of the Committee from all parts of the country.
The speaker criticized Jewish writers in Rumania for being “absent” from the fight against Zionism. He also criticized some of the leaders of the Jewish Democratic Committee for not conducting the campaign against Zionism “with sufficient vigor.” Reporting on the activities of the organization for the last year, he said that the social structure of the Jewish population has “considerably improved” and that 18,000 unemployed Jews have been provided with jobs through the efforts of the Committee.
