“Our personal and material existence is jeopardized; even the Jewish places of worship are not safe,” is the conclusion of an addressed sent to King Ferdinand of Roumania by the Regional Zionist Conference which took place in Oradeamore, Transylvania. The Conference has decided to ask the King of Roumania to exert his personal influence on the government that it cease tolerating the brutal anti-Semitism which prevails in the country.
The wave of anti-Semitism feeling has caused such a situation in the country that no Jew can even pass the street safely; no Jew has the feeling of security even in his own home,” declared Mr. Fisher, President of the Jewish Natinal Union of Transylvania, to the Conference. He further pointed out the fact that the enforcement of the new Land Distribution Law in Transylvania was executed in such a manner that many Jews have lost their land possessions.
