A split within the Zionist Organization of Poland, due to differences of opinion concerning the internal policy, was avoided yesterday by the adoption of a compromise resolution.
The question which threatened to split the conference was the attitude towards the policy of the Club of Jewish Deputies. The adopted resolution establishes the fact that the Polish Jewish Agreement was not fulfilled and the Club of Jewish Deputies is therefore urged to proceed to oppose me government. At the same time, however, the resolution expresses appreciation for the work of the former president of the Club, Dr. Leon Reich, and approves the election of Deputy Hartglass to the presidency of the Club.
The conference closed yesterday.
Other resolutions urged the Zionist party council to intensify the Zionist activities in Poland, to devote greater attention to the collections of the Keren Hayesod and the Keren Kayemeth. All members of the Zionist party council were reelected.
A reduction of 60 per cent in the railway fare was granted to the delegates by the Polish Railway Ministry.
