The American Zionist Council today called on its more than 400 local committees throughout the United States to arrange mass meetings next week to “bring before the American people the accurate facts concerning the plan to internationalize Jerusalem.”
In a Council memorandum, local committees were asked to utilize all media of public opinion to make the American people “aware of the true facts of the Jerusalem problem now on the agenda of the U.N. General Assembly.” The meetings, it was stressed, are not being convoked in a spirit of protest.
At the same time, the Council announced that a “Save Jerusalem” rally will be held in this city Nov. 2. Speakers will include Berl Locker, chairman of the Jewish Agency executive in Jerusalem; Dr. Nahum Goldmann, chairman of the American section of the Agency; Louis Lipsky, chairman of the American Zionist Council; and Mrs. Rose Halprin, member of the Agency executive.
