More than 500 delegates representing the labor Zionist movement in the Middle West adopted a resolution here yesterday to make every effort possible in their respective communities “to double and triple” contributions to the United Jewish Appeal. The resolution was adopted at the conclusion of a one-day conference held at the Palmer House.

Addressing the conference, Rep. Emanuel Celler charged that there is ample provision in the immigration laws for President Eisenhower to act with regard to the admission of Jews, expelled from Egypt, to the United States. “To slam the door to them,” he declared, “is disgraceful.”
