The striking gains made by the Zionist Laborite group here in the balotting for delegates to the World Zionist Congress at Prague next month are duplicated in election reports received by the Jewish Telegraphic Agency from its offices abroad.
In Palestine, the Jewish Telegraphic Agency reports, the Labor ticket received seventy percent of the total vote cast which numbered over 50,000. 65,000 were entitled to vote on the basis of the Shekel payments. The Revisionist group received 11 percent of the vote cast; the General Zionists 7 percent; the Hapoel-Mizrachi (orthodox workers group) five and a half percent, and Mizrachi (orthodox Zionists) three and a half percent.
Preliminary election results in England reveal the election of 6 General Zionist delegates and 2 Poale Zion representatives. The ninth place is expected to go to the Mizrachi whose slate received more support than the two Revisionist groups together.
Two General Zionists and two Poale Zionists will represent Canadian Zionism at the Congress.
Results in the election of the 126 delegates from Poland, including Galicia, are not yet known. Previously reported results are: Austria, 2 General Zionists, 1 Poale Zionist, 1 Democratic Revisionist and possibly 1 Jabotinsky Revisionist; Italy: 1 General Zionist; West Galicia: 7 Laborites, 3 General Zionists, 3 Mizrachi, 2 Jabotinsky Revisionists.
