Representatives of 19 Zionist youth groups met at the regional Zionist headquarters this week in order to discuss the advisability of establishing a central committee representing all the Zionist youth groups in the state of Ohio.
The meeting reached the decision to convoke a more widely representative meeting of Zionist youth to meet on September 10, prior to the meeting of the regional organization. It was also decided to appoint committees to work out a program for the September meeting and to ask the state convention for financial help to carry out projects among Zionist youth.
Plans for the regional Zionist convention which meets September 9 and 10 are being completed. The convention is to hold two principal sessions. The first session is to be led by Ezra Shapiro, president of the Zionist region of Ohio, while the second will be led by Isaac Carmel, executive secretary of the regional organization.
A special committee has been appointed to welcome the two guests of honor, Nathan Straus, Jr. of New York, and Harry F. Payer, Assistant Secretary of State, of Washington.
Invitations to the convention have been extended to twenty-three communities in the state of Ohio. One hundred percent representation from these communities is expected by the committee.
