The Galician Zionists obtained the largest number of representatives in the Lemberg Kehillah in the elections which took place yesterday.
The elections were held in accordance with the recently promulgated Kehillah ordinance which is similar to the one in force in Congress Poland. In contrast to the previous system which divided the electorate in to separate colleges, on the basis of the taxation rate, the present ordinance calls for direct, general and proportionate elections. Eleven thousand, five hundred voters went to the polls.
The Zionist national bloc elected eleven representatives, the assimilationists and merchants bloc eight, the Agudath Israel five, the bloc of Poale Zion and Bund one.
