The twenty-second annual convention of the Texas Zionist Association, a state federation, opened here today at the Galvez Hotel. Sessions will be held until Monday evening. Dr. Mendel Silber of New Orleans, Rabbi Wolf Gold and Dr. Chaim Arlasoroff will address the sessions.
A convention of the Texas Hebrew teachers and Hebrew school principals will be held on Tuesday with a view to forming a permanent organization.
Much interest centers in the convention here in view of the expectation that the controversy in the ranks of American Zionism will find a strong echo in the proceedings. Judge Henry J. Dannenbaum, who presided at the 1921 Zionist envention in Cleveland, in his greeting to the Texas convention declared his opposition to the Weizmann and Lipsky administration.
