The first returns of the Kehillah elections which took place in the provinces of Congress Poland seem to indicate that the national Jewish elements have won a victory in spite of the tremendous propaganda carried on by the orthodox Agud##rt Israel Party. Even towns with an orthodox and fanatical population elected to the Kehillah not less than 50% Zionists or Mizrachists. In some towns Jewish socialists, belonging to the Bund or left Poale Zion, were elected. The Assimilationist Party was completely defeated.
