The immediate opening of the doors of Palestine by the British Government “for the unlimited entry of all Jewish refugees, irrespective of their ports of embarkation” and the abrogation of the White paper restrictions, are demanded in a proclamation issued today by the Zionist Organization of America here over the signature of its president, Judge Louis E. Levinthal.

The proclamation was issued in connection with a nation-wide campaign to “mobilize Zionist manpower” for the purpose of safeguarding the post-war status of Palestine as the Jewish Commonwealth. It refers to the scope of the Jewish tragedy abroad, and declares that “while the Governments and peoples of the United Nations have given us words of sympathy, none has yet proceeded to an effective, generous act by means of which those in danger of death could be rescued or those whose bondage held a gleam of hope could be freed.”
