Zeev Sharef, Secretary of the Israel Government since 1948, has resigned that post, a non-elective position with ministerial status, it was announced today. He will continue in government service as Director of State Revenue in the Israel Treasury to which position he was appointed in 1954. As Secretary of the Government, Mr. Sharef was attached to the Prime Minister’s office.
