U.S. Rep. Steve Cohen says he was surprised by his margin of victory in the Democratic primary in Tennessee's 9th District.
The lopsided primary victory by the Jewish incumbent in the South's only majority black district represented by a white congressman was a sign that the campaign's anti-Semitic accusations found little currency among Memphis voters.
