He’Brew is a brand of beer that’s exactly what it sounds like. If you’ve never heard of this particular beverage, you’re probably asking yourself the same thing we did at first: Does the world need another kitschy Jewish food product?
However, after tasting their Messiah Bold and Jewbelation 14, our attitude changed drastically. It was actually, seriously good. Not only was He’Brew’s advertising clever (“Hanukkah, Chanukah–pass the beer,” runs one popular slogan), but the beers have actually won major microbrew competitions, and can impress even the most selective of your non-Jewish beer-snob friends.
He’Brew is rolling out new flavors for Hanukkah 2010, including a barrel-aged ale blend and an 8-beer gift pack–complete with candles and tips for making a beer menorah. It’s enough to make anyone want to light Hanukkah candles–although, please, make sure that the under-21s in the room are only lighting their beer menorahs.
