Israeli troops kill 3 armed Palestinians
Israeli troops killed three armed Palestinians, including a female would-be suicide bomber.
A Palestinian couple holding hands as they approached the Erez Crossing on the Gaza Strip-Israel opened fire on soldiers about 50 yards from them, prompting return fire, according to Yediot Achronot.
The shooting either set off a bomb being carried by one of the Palestinians, a woman, or she detonated herself. Her companion, a man who was carrying a rifle, also was killed.
Islamic Jihad claimed the two as its members.
In the West Bank, troops at a roadblock outside Jenin opened fire on a group of gunmen. One was killed and the rest fled. The dead man’s affiliation was not immediately known.
