PrintTouro students in U.N. meetings
Students at a Jewish-run college will participate in high-level U.N. meetings to mark World Social Work Day.
The students, from Touro College’s recently established school of social work, will discuss humanitarian aid in meetings April 15. The discussions follow a meeting March 31 involving 48 Touro students and the deputy secretary of the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, Craig Mokiber.
Touro’s Graduate School of Social Work recently achieved candidacy status from the Council on Social Work Education, the sole accrediting authority for social work education in the United States. Full national accreditation is expected to take several years.
