Abbas undergoes heart procedure
Mahmoud Abbas underwent a heart procedure in a Jordan hospital.
The Palestinian Authority president underwent an unannounced catheterization procedure Thursday in Amman and was expected to return to work Friday in the West Bank. Abbas is scheduled to meet Sunday with U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.
His doctor recommended Abbas undergo the procedure during a routine physical in Amman. The procedure searches for blockages to the heart.
Abbas, 73, also was catheterized in 2005.
