Bin Laden marks 60th with fight vow
A purported recorded message from Osama bin Laden marks Israel’s 60th anniversary with a vow to join the Palestinians in their fight.
“We will continue, God permitting, the fight against the Israelis and their allies,” a voice that sounds like bin Laden says in a message posted Friday on Islamist web sites.
He derided western leaders for attending Israel’s 60th anniversary celebrations.
“The participation of Western leaders with the Jews in this anniversary celebration confirms that the West backs this Jewish occupation of our land, and that they stand in the Israeli corner against us,” said the message, according to a translation by Reuters.
