Ukrainian lawmaker honored by Jerusalem Patriarch
KIEV, Ukraine (JTA)—A Ukrainian lawmaker and prominent Jewish leader received a top honor from a Christian Orthodox leader in Jerusalem.
Aleksandr Feldman was presented with the Order of Golden Cross on Thursday by Teophilos, Patriarch of the Jerusalem Orthodox Church.
The award was given to the Ukrainian Jewish leader and philanthropist for his personal contribution to the development of interfaith dialogue and tolerance among world religions.
Feldman is a president of the Ukrainian Jewish Committee. He has been a driving force behind the creation of interfaith dialogue and interethnic tolerance development in Ukraine.
