Maine synagogue vandalized
NEW YORK (JTA) -- A swastika was painted on an Orthodox synagogue in Portland, Maine.
The swastika was discovered Jan. 30 at Congregation Shaarey Tphiloh. Police are investigating.
The synagogue, which claims to be Portland's oldest, held a rally against hate Sunday in response to the vandalism.
