Sarkozy blasts Holocaust-denying bishop
PARIS (JTA) -- French President Nicolas Sarkozy said he was shocked by the British-born Bishop Richard Williamson, who publicly denied Jews were killed in Nazi gas chambers.
"It is incredible, shocking and inadmissible to be able to find in the 21st century somebody who dares question the gas chambers, the Holocaust, the martyrdom of Jews. It is inadmissible," said Sarkozy on a Thursday night French television interview.
Sarkozy did not directly question the pope's actions, as other world and Jewish leaders have done.
