Chabad rabbi’s son dies in sleep
NEW YORK (JTA) -- The 9-year-old son of a Chabad emissary in suburban New York died mysteriously in his sleep.
Levi Yitzchok Wolowik died sometime during the night of Feb. 27 and was discovered the next morning when his family tried to wake him. Levi is the son of Rabbi Zalman and Chanie Wolowik, emissaries in the Five Towns area of Long Island.
A message posted to the Chabad of the Five Towns Web site over the weekend urged community members to attend a previously scheduled anuual dinner on Sunday night.
Levi was buried Sunday in New York City.
