PrintBedouin terror cell arrested
JERUSALEM (JTA) -- Nine Bedouin men were arrested for planning attacks against Israelis.
The men were arrested in the last several days by Israel Police and the Shin Bet security service, according to reports. The arrests were under a gag order until Sunday.
The men, all in their late teens and early 20s, are residents of the northern Galilee town of Shfaram.
They allegedly founded a terror cell during Israel's military offensive in Gaza in order to show solidarity with the Palestinians. They are accused of planning to knock down electrical poles, block traffic, and throw stones and tires on major highways to injure Israeli drivers. An Israeli woman was injured by two electrical polls that the cell knocked down earlier this year.
All the accused have confessed their involvement in the terror cell, according to reports.
