Nextbook relaunches as tabletmag
NEW YORK (JTA) -- Nextbook.org relaunched its redesigned, revamped Web site today under a new name: tabletmag.com.
Tablet, as it is now known, is part of Nextbook, the nonprofit organization financed by Mem Bernstein that also publishes a series of Jewish literary books.
The new product, which is edited by former Forward arts editor Alana Newhouse, will continue to focus on Jewish culture and literature, but now also will take a harder look at politics, news and analysis than it has in the past.
“Journalism is in a very challenging time, but the thing about Jewish journalism is that it has always attracted talent,” Newhouse told JTA’s philanthropy blog The Fundermentalist. “Jewish journalistic operations throughout history have nurtured some great talent, and I hope to have here what is a part of that tradition.”
