Israeli army, Palestinians trade fire
JERUSALEM (JTA) -- The Israeli military and Palestinian gunmen traded fire on the Gaza border.
The Palestinian Ma'an news agency has reported that a Palestinian teen, 17, was killed and 11 others wounded in the incident. Israeli army sources say they have not verified the claims.
Israeli soldiers fired mortar shells at the Palestinians after they shot at the troops patrolling the Gaza border, according to reports. The Palestinians allegedly had been attempting to detonate a roadside bomb near an Israeli army jeep, Ynet reported.
Palestinian reports said a shell struck a Palestinian home.
