Florida toddler recovered after van stolen
WASHINGTON (JTA) -- Virginia police are searching for a minivan with Florida plates saying "Hashem1" after recovering a toddler who was in the van when it was stolen.
The mother of 18-month-old Naomi Hillel was filling up her Honda Odyssey with gas in Virginia Beach, Va., on Wednesday morning when a man pushed her aside and drove off.
Guests at a hotel in nearby Newport News found Naomi wandering a few hours later and staff alerted police, leading to an emotional reunion with her parents.
The dark gray minivan is still missing. Naor Hillel, Naomi's father, explained to the Virginian-Pilot that the license plate signifies "God is One."
Police issued an for alert for Matthew Nash, 24, a white male.
