Facebook removes page devoted to Hamas leader
JERUSALEM (JTA) -- Facebook removed a group dedicated to supporting Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh.
The group had more than 10,000 "friends," according to the London-based Arabic newspaper Al-Hayat, which first reported that the Facebook group called "Commander Ismail Haniyeh" had been shut down.
Several other Haniyeh fan pages remain online.
A Facebook page supporting Hamas leader-in-exile Khaled Mashaal has more than 17,000 members, according to reports.
