Palestinian attempts to steal settlement guard’s rifle
JERUSALEM (JTA) -- A Palestinian who allegedly tried to steal the weapon of a West Bank settlement's security officer was shot and wounded.
The officer guarding the Gush Etzion community of Bat Ayin said the Palestinian tried to grab his rifle on Tuesday afternoon. The guard, who was on a routine patrol, recovered his weapon and fired at the attacker, hitting him in the hand, according to reports. Other reports said that there were two attackers.
The assailant, who fled the scene, was later arrested.
