Kassam strikes western Negev
JERUSALEM (JTA) -- A Kassam rocket fired from the Gaza Strip landed in southern Israel.
The rocket, which caused no damage or injuries, struck Israel late Monday night. It was the first rocket attack on the western Negev in a week and a half, when four rockets struck in Ashkelon and Sderot.
Earlier Monday, Israeli soldiers discovered five pipe bombs in the bag of a Palestinian man at a checkpoint near Nablus.
Also Monday, a bomb exploded at the southern Gaza border near Kibbutz Nirim, according to the Israeli army.
