Israel strikes Gaza targets
JERUSALEM (JTA) -- Two Palestinians were killed in Israeli airstrikes on three tunnels in Gaza.
The airstrikes overnight Sunday hit two smuggling tunnels in southern Gaza and a terror tunnel intended for infiltrating into Israel and executing terror attacks against Israeli soldiers and civilians, according to the Israel Defense Forces.
Along with the two Palestinians killed, one is missing, the Palestinian Ma'an news agency reported.
The strikes were in response to "the security-related incidents that took place throughout the week," the IDF said.
The incidents included a shooting attack on an Israeli vehicle near Hebron that left two Israelis dead, another shooting attack near Ramallah that injured two Israelis and a stoning attack at the Tapuach Junction that wounded a 12-year-old girl.
Rockets also were fired from Gaza on southern Israel on Friday and Saturday.
