Bezalel brings artworks to U.S.
JERUSALEM (JTA) -- An exhibition of contemporary art works by recent graduates of Israel's Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design has opened in Baltimore.
The Maryland Institute College of Art will display the works through mid-March before the exhibit travels throughout North America over the next year.
"Bezalel on Tour" features the work of 30 students who have graduated in the last five years from the departments of fine arts, architecture, photography, ceramic and glass design, industrial design, jewelry and fashion, visual communication and screen-based arts.
The exhibition is in recognition of the 106th anniversary of Bezalel, Israel‘s oldest institute of higher education and a leading international academy of art, design and architecture.
Among the stops for the exhibition are Sotheby’s Chicago, the Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage in Cleveland, and academies and museums in New York and Toronto.
