A New York appeals court ordered an upstate New York town near a planned Hasidic development in Bloomingburg, New York, to allow the construction of a mikvah ritual bath at a site that had been rejected.
A federal judge indicated that she will dismiss a federal racketeering lawsuit filed against an Orthodox Jewish developer building a housing development in the upstate New York village.
The lawsuit alleges that Bloomingburg and the Town of Mamakating violated federal civil rights and fair housing laws by trying to stop a 396-unit development being marketed to Hasidic Jews.
