The Israeli prime minister reaffirmed his support for a deal creating a designated prayer section for non-Orthodox worshippers, but did not promise to oppose changes demanded by his haredi Orthodox coalition partners.
Despite their warm reception with Israeli President Reuven Rivlin, Reform and Conservative leaders did not paper over their disappointment when it comes to non-Orthodox rights in Israel.
Proceeds from the sale will go toward paying down United Synagogue’s debt, renting new office space and establishing a foundation to fund ongoing programs, the organization said.
