There has always been antisemitism in Cleveland, and there will always be. Time for the Jewish Community Federation to wake up. I attended the Israel rally last Monday on Public Square, and noted the outright antisemitic behavior of many of the pro-"Palestinian" demonstrators. Harley Gross simply told the audience to ignore them while promoting the "Two States, Two People" fantasy. Newsflash - there are people out to kill us, from time immemorial. So does the Federation offer Krav Maga training at the JCC? Is there a Jewish sponsored gun safety program in place? Camp Wise won't even teach the kids basic marksmanship in deference to the Federation's liberal agenda. I'm not sure if the issue is cowardice or simply ignorance.

And if Jews believed in Rastafarianism, we could all smoke ganja and sing peaceful reggae songs and chant "Ja Man" all day. One minor problem - this thing called Torah. Another problem - Judaism is more than just a religion, it's a nationality. Swartzes - you are living in a fantasy world.

Pollard was nearly released during the Wye Accords. Dennis Ross acknowledged that he recommended President Clinton hold Pollard until "final status" negotiations, effectively acknowledging that the US is holding Pollard captive for political purposes.

It's called Pidyan Shvuyim. Redemption of the Captives. Pollard committed espionage, not treason. Pollard was never afforded a fair trial - the government reneged on its plea bargain.

Tracy: Pumpkin Pie or Apple Pie, when laced with traif are both unkosher. The Mormons do wonderful things but on this issue they simply do not get it. Ironically, the LDS and Jews should be the closest of allies on major issues. We know the LDS strongly supports the state of Israel. Most observant Jews are pro-life and support traditional family values shared by the LDS (well maybe with the exception of the bigamy thing). Proposition 8 was a GREAT victory, and you should be proud of your efforts. That said, when LDS insist on proseletyzing to Jews, it scares the begezus out of us (pun intended) - Christianity has a long history of baptism by fire. The memory of the Crusades, Inquisitions, and pogroms throughout history should be reason enough for all Christian faiths to declare a "hands off" policy on Jewish conversions. But it is sooooooooo hard for many of your coreligionists to give it up. How bout we declare a truce. When Jesus returns, Jews should be willing to embrace Him, and all evangelizing is fair game. Until then, lets jointly go forward supporting the State of Israel, and tell your missionaries to stay away from us. It is the proseletyzing that has probably driven Jewish leadership in this country to embrace the evils of liberalism. With liberalism comes assimilation. Perhaps that was part of the master plan? If so, that's unfortunate, because there is a brighter future together.
