Posted in: Rabba Sara speaks
Back in the Biblical era there was a female judge. She held the highest position in the land of Israel at one time. So why are people complaining on something that is only Rabbinical. The Rabbis are only protecting their business. Besides she is much better looking then any Rabbi that I ever knew, including a few female Rabbis conservative & reform. To all those Rabbis with some semblance of authority, remember that Jew who bucked with the Rabbis of his time. We have had 20 centuries of problems since then.
Posted in: Non-Orthodox day schools merit support
There is a difference between orthodox Jews and non-orthodox Jews in philosophy of Judaism. The orthodox Jew who berates the non-orthodox Jew is insecure in his own belief. I have been to functions and synagogues of all denonminations. All I have to do is grow my beard, put on my tallit katan with the Tstsit hanging out, put on my big tallit, my black suit and no one can tell me from any orthodox person. I have in the past conducted orthodox, conservative and reform services. It is what is in your heart that counts. What is important is respect and also self respect. Spitting on your fellow Jew degrates HaShem.
Posted in: The Dersh on Goldstone
Although I have disagreed with many comments made by Mr. Dershowitz in the past, I totally agree with this one on Goldstone. If you look at Goldstone's record as a jurist, there is a lot not to be desired.

I am in total agreement with the Cantor. Unless the Rabbi is acting in the Cantor's position, I don't need the Rabbi in the Shul Their sermons usually bore me. Yes, we need Rabbis to interpret the halacha just as we need lawyers and judges in our courts. Today, the Rabbis seem to sow disention among the Jews within and without Israel.

When did Jesus convert to Catholism? I thought that he was born out of wedlock to a Jewish woman therefore making him a Jew. I find nothing in the Gospels which states that he converted, let alone in any Jewish documentation that was current to his birth, life, and death. Simply, he was born a Jew, lived as a Jew and was murdered by the Romans (present day Italians) therefore dying a Jew. What was good for Jesus is good for me.

To give the medal to someone who is tainted cheapens the value of such a medal and it makes the person authorizing the giving of the medal look like someone lacking in gray matter above the eyebrows.

Posted in: Nixon: If only the Jews would behave....
If only Nixon would have behaved, he would have remained in the Presidency until his time would have been up. However, he was an impulsive bad little boy and got exactly what was do to him. The old proverb of "look who was calling the kettle black", he got the black greasepaint all over his body, let alone his face.

I no longer stand and recite the Kaddish D'Rabbanum. The Rabbis of today do not have the qualities of the ancient sages of Jewish learning and in my opinion they only want to protect their turf. Go ask Hitler "who is a Jew? I do not object to standards that are realistically set; however, where only one group or person sets the standard, then there is no fairness.
