Posted in: Palin on settlements: Jews 'flocking' to Israel need a place to live

A good read on historical fact by a Jewish professor at the University of Tel Aviv:: Israel Delberately Forgets Its History by Dr. Shlomo Sand (Zand) http://mondediplo.com/2008/09/07israel So spare everyone here more of the nonsense that attempts to justify the ongoing theft of other's land for the Zionist cause, a cause that has hijaked the religion of Judaism. Until Theodore Herzl came on the scene, Jewish Rabbis knew that Israel was not about the land. Israel was about the heart and the righteousness of the good Jewish people. It is far from righteous to steal and live in the homes of those one has driven from those homes. It is far from righteous to beat people and kill them for their land. Zionists should disgust all who believe in a righteous God. The temporary land grant that the old books speak of was CONDITIONAL on the Covenant. Jewish ancestors repeatedly broke the covenant, and were punished by loss of their right to the ancient land of Israel. Period. http://www.appaf.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5

More REAL history that belies the mythical nonsense of Zionists and their ignorant supporters: โ€œBetween 3000 and 1100 B.C., Canaanite civilization covered what is today Israel, the West Bank, Lebanon and much of Syria and Jordan...Those who remained in the Jerusalem hills after the Romans expelled the Jews [in the second century A.D.] were a potpourri: farmers and vineyard growers, pagans and converts to Christianity, descendants of the Arabs, Persians, Samaritans, Greeks and old Canaanite tribes.โ€ Marcia Kunstel and Joseph Albright, โ€œTheir Promised Land.โ€ โ€œThe extended kingdoms of David and Solomon, on which the Zionists base their territorial demands, endured for only about 73 years...Then it fell apart...[Even] if we allow independence to the entire life of the ancient Jewish kingdoms, from Davidโ€™s conquest of Canaan in 1000 B.C. to the wiping out of Judah in 586 B.C., we arrive at [only] a 414 year Jewish rule.โ€ Illene Beatty, โ€œArab and Jew in the Land of Canaan.โ€ More on Canaanite civilization โ€œRecent archeological digs have provided evidence that Jerusalem was a big and fortified city already in 1800 BCE...Findings show that the sophisticated water system heretofor attributed to the conquering Israelites pre-dated them by eight centuries and was even more sophisticated than imagined... http://www.ifamericansknew.org/history/origin.html#early

Cohn, Indigenous peoples, including those of the Southwest U.S. have far more connection to this land that we of European ancestry. Many Mexicans have that ancestry. Jews inhabited a small portion (less than 10%) of what is now Israel, and Jews have ALWAYS been a historical minority in what is they now claim as Israel. See this map for your lesson on modern history:of Palestinian lands that were stolen and continue to be stolen from those other than Jew: http://lawrenceofcyberia.blogs.com/photos/maps/landloss.html

A large group of Mexican people are claiming their right to build settlements all across the face of the U.S., and they are killing people and throwing them out of their homes in states from California to Maine. Their ancestors once liven, just a couple of hundred years ago, on one third of what is now the contiguous United States. Don't stand in their way as they destroy your crops and occupy or bulldoze your homes, as they claim the right of self defense against all such terrorist acts by you, the landowners who are being displaced. And Sara Palin thinks this is ok, and as it should be. Is she right?

The rocket attack victims this article speaks of can be multiplied by factors of hundreds if the same article were speaking of Palestinian victims. Palestinians in Gaza have no shelters that are safe from Israeli attacks. They don't even have adequate drinking water and medicines while under brutal occupation and oppression of Israel. So please don't cry about the injured in Sderot who live on theland of a Palestinian village, Najd after Palestinians were forced from their homes there, or Ashkelon, another of 500 Palestinian towns that were overrun by Jewish immigrants.

Mr. Bassini, The UN report acknowledged that firing rockets at civilian populations from Gaza or from Israeli gunships and fighter jets are war crimes. Inaccurate rockets from Gaza are not the initial problem, as rockets are fired in retaliation for and resistance to Israeli aggression. Hamas held the cease-fire despite Israel's continued strangling of Gaza, despite Israel's repeatedly shooting innocent Palestinian farmers and fishermen, and despite Isreal's invasion of Gaza airspace and attacks on their borders. It was a lie that Operation Cast Lead was launched to stop the "hundreds of rockets fired from Gaza", as the following graph from IDF data shows: http://www.spinwatch.org/-articles-by-category-mainmenu-8/73-middle-east/5317-how-israel-torpedoed-its-ceasefire-with-hamas-to-produce-a-casus-belli Israel has violated scores of UN resolutions since it's founding 61 years ago, and it continues to kill palestinians, including children, with impunity: http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=19f_1253070639 http://www.inewsit.com/video/gallery/Footage-of-Israeli-Military-Shooting-Gaza-Farmers http://electronicintifada.net/v2/article10767.shtml http://www.video4viet.com/watchvideo.html?id=aZBwcPcAeFA&title=Israeli+Navy+Attacks+Gaza+Fishermen++Internationals For a myriad of facts that belie the myths of a righteous Israel: http://www.ifamericansknew.org/ Israel was created by Western powers and dumped like a maurauding elephant on the people of Palestine. More than 700,000 people were driven from their homes as immigrants, mostly from Europe, filled up the land. And Israel continues building settlement colonies and displacing Palestinians. THAT is the initial cause of the conflict. Palestinians are resisting this gross injustice. All violence in the area is SUBSEQUENT to Israeli INITIAL aggression. Palestinians have no tanks and artillery pieces. They have no gunboats nor helicopters or state of the art fighter planes. All theyhave is rockets and small arms to defend their people against the 4th most powerful military machine on our planet. Inaccurate, often times homemade rockets are a pathetic resistance weapon, but that's all they have. Can anyone view the carnage of Gaza and still in good conscience defend the REAL terrorists (Israel) here? Don't tell me about the suffering of the invading Jews, please.

And please, Mr. Zuesse, let's not bring ancient texts into the conversation, as modern Zionism does a disservice to humankind when it invokes nonsense. Your erroneous use of the Qur'an, as much of the Talmud is nonsense and would be viewed with condemnation by even the most liberal among us. Also, it seems that early Jewish peoples who migrated to their surrounding Arab brother's states created their own problems as arrogant new arrivals: "The Constitution of Medina, written shortly after hijra, addressed some points regarding the civil and religious situation for the Jewish communities living within the city from an Islamic perspective. For example, the constitution stated that the Jews "will profess their religion, and the Muslims theirs", and they "shall be responsible for their expenditure, and the Muslims for theirs". Rarely did Jews live with such freedom. After the Battle of Badr, the Jewish tribe of Banu Qaynuqa allegedly breached treaties and agreements with Muhammad. Islam's Prophet regarded this as casus belli and besieged the Banu Qaynuqa. Upon surrender the tribe was expelled.[4] The following year saw the expulsion of the second tribe, the Banu Nadir, accused of planning to kill The Prophet Muhammad. The third major Jewish tribe in Medina, Banu Qurayza was eliminated when the Muslims besieged their fortifications not long after the fall of the Banu Nadir, an event reported in Surah 33:25-27 of the Qur'an.[5]" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_the_Jews_under_Muslim_rule

Evan Zuesse, your authorative language here may fool some into believing lies. You state that the Qur'an stresses anti-semitism. Here you will find truth: Note the verses that hold Jews in esteem: As with all scriptures, passages in the Qur'an must be read within the proper context. The Qur'an was not just revealed to Muslims, but to all people, including Jews and Christians. Prophet Muhammad (Salla Allah Ta'ala Alaihi Wa Salam) was in the line of previous Prophets of Allah, including Prophets Abraham, Moses and Jesus, and the Qur'an is in the line of previous scriptures revealed by Allah. The Qur'an does not condemn the Semitic race and, in fact, accords Jews a special status given their shared prophetic traditions with Islam. The Qur'an instead criticizes those Jews who turned away from Allah's authentic message and admonishes those who scorned and ridiculed Prophet Muhammad(Salla Allah Ta'ala Alaihi Wa Salam) and the message of the Qur'an. Such criticism is similar to the criticism against Jews found in other scriptures, including the Bible, and should be taken by all people as a reminder and warning against forsaking and straying from the authentic message of Allah. Such specific criticism has never been interpreted by learned scholars of the Qur'an to incite hatred against all Jewish people and should not be confused with anti-Semitism. The Qur'an speaks extensively about the Children of Israel (Bani Isra'il) and recognizes that the Jews (al-Yahud) are, according to lineage, descendants of Prophet Abraham through his son Isaac and grandson Jacob. They were chosen by Allah for a mission: ูˆูŽู„ูŽู‚ูŽุฏู’ ุงุฎู’ุชูŽุฑู’ู†ูŽุงู‡ูู…ู’ ุนูŽู„ูŽู‰ ุนูู„ู’ู…ู ุนูŽู„ูŽู‰ ุงู„ู’ุนูŽุงู„ูŽู…ููŠู†ูŽ And We chose them (the Children of Israel) above the 'Alamin (mankind, and jinns) [during the time of Musa (Moses)] with knowledge(44:32) and Allah raised among them many Prophets and bestowed upon them what He had not bestowed upon many others: ูˆูŽุฅูุฐู’ ู‚ูŽุงู„ูŽ ู… ููŠู†ูŽ And (remember) when Musa (Moses) said to his people: "O my people! Remember the Favour of Allah to you, when He made Prophets among you, made you kings, and gave you what He had not given to any other among the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns, in the past)." (5:20) He exalted them over other nations of the earth and granted them many favors; ....for the rest of the article: http://www.quranicstudies.com/articles/peace-in-the-quran/is-there-anti-semitism-in-the-quran.html Also you seem to somehow conclude that those who denounce capitalism or bring some of the internal contradictions and failings of neo-liberal economic practices to light are somehow anti-Semites. How have you arrived at such a disconnected conclusion? ููŠู†ูŽ O Children of Israel! Remember My Favour which I bestowed upon you and that I preferred you to the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns) (of your time period, in the past). (2:47

Also, I do not doubt that there is current hatred and persecution of Jews by some Arabs, especially the radical Jihadists who I have no sympathies for, as these people ar indeed damaged beyond repair by their backward religious idiologies and ignorance. But these people are on the fringes, and continued aggression, hegemony and arrogance of Western powers, including Israel, only serves as a recruitment tool of the Jihadists worldwide who prey on those are disenfranchised, impoverished and marginalized by the forces of capitalism. Israel could do much to improve relations even among those people in the region, if it were to seek real peace rather than stall while continuing to abuse Palestinians and steal more of their lands.

Evan Zuesse, thank you for facts and historical perspective on the matter of Arab-Muslim persecution and injustices towards Jews. Those were terrible times for Jews, as they were for many other persecuted peoples as wars and conflicts raged anywhere there were civilizations. Your point, I believe, is that Jews have been persecuted by Arabs. Yes they have. But in modern times Jews and Muslims and Christians and Druse and others lived in relative harmony in the land that is now Israel. For an article on the damage caused by the "seige mentality" that was brought on by ancient and modern (European) persecution and is encouraged by Zionists, and how this form of thinking plays out today: http://dissidentvoice.org/2009/09/the-pathology-of-evil/
