The orthodox Jew who berates the non-orthodox Jew is insecure in his own belief. I have been to functions and synagogues of all denonminations. All I have to do is grow my beard, put on my tallit katan with the Tstsit hanging out, put on my big tallit, my black suit and no one can tell me from any orthodox person. I thought that he was born out of wedlock to a Jewish woman therefore making him a Jew. I find nothing in the Gospels which states that he converted, let alone in any Jewish documentation that was current to his birth, life, and death.
