Once again a misunderstanding of your own freaking history, more or less, and an inexcusable misunderstanding of who the hell you even are. There have not been many 'converts' to Judaism over the years not that much intermarriage, but there has been some of each. Besides this many Ashkenazi Jews were raped during the middle ages, which is why we/you have this absurd concept of the mother determining the religion of the child. This is not their ethnicity, this is their culture. The difference is cultural, with some ethnic differences, but the Euro/Catholic/Protestant/blue-eyed culture is the Ashkenazi, while the Arab/Muslim/Orthodox Christian culture is the Sephardic. My point is that both groups are Jews and both should learn each others history and traditions and both should drop the hyphenated labels of Ashkenazi as well as Sephardic. Of course the history is the history and each group has its history. Each group should learn about their own history in order to put aside these adjectives in order to just be Jews or Levites or Benjaminites or Rueben, etc. Otherwise go back to the countries that you were kicked out of. I went to a Conservative/Traditional Hebrew School. But at home and outside we ate whatever, pork, shrimp, lobster, etc. At age 20 I read the Bible, not as a Jew, not as a Christian, but as a human being. I determined this book, for the most part was from God (Now I know some of you are much too smart to believe that, I apparently am not. By the way, that is called humility, most of you should try it.). I soon stopped eating pork, shellfish, etc. I did not stop eating milk and meat together, because I do not believe that is a correct interpretation of the law, 'to not boil a kid in its mother's milk.' I believe this law, like most Biblical and human laws are literal. Again I know you brainiacs have to show how brilliant you are in twisting this and that law. I believe that I am smart or dumb enough to take them as they are written, especially when one of the Biblical laws specifically states, 'do not add nor subtract from any of these laws.' But I digress. As far as rabbinic authority, I wouldn't trust those rabbis, especially the Orthodox rabbis, to give me the right time of day. So as far as destroying the Jewish people or religion, I'd say the Orthodox have done the best job of that overall.
