Comment to Good God: Steinhardt no longer an atheist?

I have always suspected that the leadership of Israel and the Jews is comprised of a coalition of Godless Atheist Oligarchs and religious nutcases. The Atheist Oligarchs provide the financing and the political clout and religious nutcases provide the justification or legitimacy. You have done nothing to dispel the notion.

Comment to Jews are biggest backers of Obama's performance (UPDATED WITH RJC RESPONSE)

I find this whole conversation suspect. In the lead up to the election Haaretz rated Obama at the bottom of the pack as relates to what is good for Israel. 2. A survey with a 6% margin of error is a sloppy piece of work indeed.

The very thrust of this article is to thump down Obama while at the same time preserving the Jewish place at the table. I think that Jews are quite capable of responding to a surver in a manner more calculated to send a message than just simple forthrightness.

Comment to Wexler: U.S. must reach out to Israeli people

The fact is, Israel has ignited a war with the Islamic world. America is a part of that war because of our support of Israel in it's dispossession and oppression of the Islamic Arab Palestinians.

The amorphous Al Quaeda represents the Islamic world in this struggle. The war in Afghanistan is just an extension of Israel's war with Islam.

Balderdash to Eric and Edward. Governments relate at a governmental level. America reaching out to the people of Israel would be considered manipulative and unethical. Wexler is just another opportunistic Zionist Politico.

Israel is an imperialist western entity stabbed into the flesh of Islam. It can exist there only by superior military might. Gird thy loins Christian Soldier for Zion calls.

Comment to J Street: Obama has right strategy on Iran

Bill Edwards, you said it better than I ever could have. Nuclear proliferation is the problem and the country that said that it would not be the first to introduce nuclear weapons into the Middle East in fact, of course, did so long ago and the whole world knows it. Israel should take note that not every country and it's citizens tremble with fear at the very mention of it's name, it's nuclear fangs notwithstanding.

Comment to German subs delivered to Israel

This is nothing less than the forward looking implementation of a MAD doctrine. Israel will have a survivable nuclear counterstrike capability. This is acknowledgment that the strategy of overwhelming military superiority is coming to an end. Was it ill advised to begin with?

This is the reality of life and death on a hair trigger. Children, get ready to practice hiding under the desk.

Every regional crisis will have ominous overtones. Israel will be constrained in it's response. A new and newly fearful day is a dawning.

Comment to Revelations of Iranian plant return nuclear threat to center stage

Hmmm, so what's going on here? Scott Ritter of some credibility says that Iran is not building nukes. Scott says, shades of Iraq.

Iran remembers that every time George Bush squawked about bomb bomb Iran that the price of oil went sky high and they happily skipped back and forth to the bank. One wonders if they aren't trying to recreate those good old days.

Russia would be thinking, yeah, yeah, take that Iranian oil off the market and bring on $400 a barrel oil.

China would be thinking, yeah, knock Iran down on it's butt, we will gladly take up the slack and be her friend. China would love to get exclusive access to those billions of barrels of oil.

The U.S. is grimacing and dragging it's heels because it is already carrying a heavy load and knows that it will be expected to deliver the goods of a chastened and compliant Iran.

Israel. Israel sees it's days as the unquestioned super power of the region under assault.

Well Obama, are you going to deliver the goods or not? Maybe it is all going to come down to Bibi or Obama.
