Jewish Organizations Hold Conference on Immigration Problem

Mr. Louis Marshall, Dr. Stephen S. Wise, John L. Bernstein and other representative Jews have issued the following call to all Jewish national organizations:

“Very serious and pressing problems arising out of the enactment of the new immigration bill and involving untold suffering to many thousands of men, woman and children stranded in European ports facing expulsion and most dire distress, require immediate consideration on the part of American Jewry.

“You are, therefore, earnestly urged to be represented at an all-day conference, beginning Sunday morning June 22nd, at ten o’clock, at the Hotel Astor, Broadway and 44th Street, New York.”

The organizations endorsing the calling of this conference are: American Jewish Committee, American Jewish Congress, Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America, National Council of Jewish Women, Hebrew Sheltering and Immigrant Aid Society (Hias),. International Ladies Garment Workers Union and United Hebrew Trades.
