Dr. Gunar Sommerfeld, who reported the unearthing of an ancient synagogue in Kaper Naum, has arrived here today after several months of excavation work in Palestine, Transjordania and the Sinai Peninsula as the head of the Royal Danish Expedition into Palestine.

The Danish Expedition reports the finding of pure iron in Petra and petroleum in the northwest part of Akaba, and has taken the necessary steps for obtaining concessions to exploit these fields.

Dr. Sommerfed related that on the Sinai Desert he came across a survey expedition from Egypt which had discovered in that region rich copper mines.

It is the intention of the Royal Danish Expedition to prepare a film showing how Palestine was 2,000 and 3,000 years ago, and how it is today.
