The office of the Jewish newspaper, “Die Zeit,” was attacked today by nationalistic students because of the fact that the paper reported student attacks on the Jews during the May 1st demonstrations. The editorial staff put up a strong self-defense, and the students were subsequently arrested by the police.
The Dean of the University of Vilna has declared that those students who participated in the attack will be tried by the university Court of Discipline.
