The King and Queen of England, accompanied by the King and Queen of Italy, on their tour of the British Empire Exhibition at Wembley, paid a special visit to the Palestine-Cyprus Pavilion, where they were given a reception by a special Zionist committee, under the leadership of Sir Alfred Mond.

The royal guests were presented with beautiful laces made in Palestine. After the tour, the royal visitors lunched at the British Government Pavilion, where they were served with a dessert consisting of Jaffa oranges brought in from the Palestine Pavilion by a small Palestinian pageboy dressed in the Hebrew national costume.
